Abstract

A review of research looking into implementing sensory-based interventions to increase on-task behavior for students with disabilities. This review looks into 10 different studies. Results found that using sensory-based interventions is not effective in increasing on-task behavior in students with disabilities in the studies reviewed.

Comments/Acknowledgements

I would like to acknowledge my professor, advisor and good friend Jerry Wellik. Jerry guided me through my journey to becoming a special education teacher as an undergrad student and encouraged me to continue my education. Not only was he there as a professor, but as a friend to lift me up when I was down and to just talk through things with me when I needed. He kept encouraging me and made sure I had the confidence to move forward. I would not have done this without him. Thank you Jerry.
