Abstract
The author writes letters to younger versions of her self as a therapeutic exercise to help her recover from the trauma of surviving an abusive marriage. She employs a loving, gentle voice to speak to the lost, vulnerable young woman at pivotal times in her life. She writes these letters to not only reconcile her victimized and empowered identities, but to also recover the dignity she lost in the past. She shares these letters to break down the silence and stigma surrounding domestic violence.
