Abstract

These two poems address situations involving domestic violence (intimate partner violence and also parental violence against children) from different perspectives, while also reflecting the societal wish to look away from it.

Margaret D. Stetz is the Mae and Robert Carter Professor of Women's Studies and Professor of Humanities at the University of Delaware. She is also an affiliated member of the Center for the Study and Prevention of Gender-based Violence at the University of Delaware, Newark, DE.
