Abstract
A rhetorical examination of the discourse surrounding immigration in the history of the United States. Utilizing a method developed with the linguistic work of Tony McEnery, the elements of the Attributional model, and Terministic Screens as described by Edmund Burke. Discourse is examined toward a deeper understanding of motivations and interpretation put forth by rhetors.
