Abstract

Current society increasingly promotes the importance of using screens, and screens have become a part of education and work life along with its entertainment role (Määttä et al. 2017). Due to the advent of affordable technology and the universal adoption of a wide range of devices by younger generations, digital technology has become an essential component for everyday life in the 21st century. Digital technologies now form one of the key components of children’s lives (Konca (2021). Understanding the effects of digital technology usage on the development of children has become a recurrent and ever growing need by educational scholars.
