Abstract
Benton Solar is a planned solar energy project in Minden Township, Benton County, with a 100-megawatt solar field and 100-megawatt battery storage facility. It is projected to be built in 2026-27 at a total cost of $315 million. CPRCE estimates that the economic impact of construction of the facility will be $77.7 million in additional GDP in the St. Cloud Metropolitan Statistical Area, with 406 jobs created, paying $37.6 in labor income. Once operational, the project is expected to sustain an increase of 8 jobs per year with $718,627 in labor income and an impact of $3.4 million to area GDP.
