Abstract

A history of the Winnebago Indian reservation at Long Prairie, Minnesota Territory, 1848 to 1855 when they were removed to Blue Earth. The work examines reservation life, including economic, social and educational aspects, the activities of the Indian agent and agency, relations with nearby Dakota and Chippewa Indians, Winnebago-settler relations, the Watab Treaty and other events on the reservation.
