Abstract

Weaker business conditions were reported during the February-April 2024 period by business leaders responding to the St. Cloud Area Quarterly Business Survey. Businesses were betting on being able to obtain higher prices for their products at the time the Federal Reserve is trying to restrain inflation. Other indicators gave way to hope that the next four-to-six months would be better. The closure of FDC, an area wholesale distribution firm with approximately 320 workers, was not seen as impacting the St. Cloud economy.
