Abstract
This study was designed to analyze the best approaches to independent reading in a middle school classroom. After discussing and reviewing related literature, I discuss the implications of independent reading within my classroom by looking at three different types of exposure and three different types of involvement. My purpose was to create a month long process to find which exposure and involvement work best for my students.
